Pocketful of Quarters (POQ) is a Web3 gaming platform designed to create an interoperable currency system across multiple games, allowing players to use Quarters as a universal in-game currency. Built on blockchain technology, POQ aims to eliminate walled-garden economies, giving gamers true ownership and flexibility in how they engage with digital assets.
As a storyteller, translating this complex Web3 concept into engaging videos, graphics, and animations posed a unique challenge. Blockchain gaming, smart contracts, and tokenomics are often intimidating or confusing to mainstream audiences, requiring a clear, visually-driven narrative that simplifies the technology while maintaining its depth and innovation. The goal was to bridge the gap between Web3 and traditional gaming—making the POQ ecosystem feel intuitive, accessible, and exciting for players, developers, and investors alike.
To tackle the challenge of explaining various elements of Web3 as well as the unique methodology of POQ, I scripted, voice-recorded, animated, and edited multiple explainer videos and digital ads, ensuring clarity while maintaining an engaging pace.
Using Illustrator and Photoshop, I developed a clean, modern visual style to represent abstract blockchain concepts as well as brand-specific concepts. Here is one example of a uniquely POQ feature called "Zero-Click." Ever heard of that before? Exactly, few have. Hence the challenge.
I brought the story and visual elements to life in After Effects, creating smooth motion graphics that illustrated the topic. Finally, I polished the edit in Premiere Pro, balancing animation, narration, and sound design to create a dynamic, digestible explanation of a groundbreaking Web3 Gaming innovation.
Creating this video presented the challenge of explaining a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization)—a complex Web3 concept—in a way that was engaging, accessible, and visually compelling. DAOs operate on blockchain technology, enabling community-driven governance without centralized control, a topic that can be difficult for general audiences to grasp.
Creating this how-to video for the POQ platform required balancing clarity, engagement, and technical accuracy, all while handling every aspect of production solo. As the designer, animator, screenwriter, voice actor, and editor, I had to develop a compelling visual narrative that would keep viewers engaged while simplifying the complex mechanics of Web3 gaming. A key challenge was crafting energetic and dynamic animations that not only reinforced the script but also made abstract blockchain concepts intuitive. The final product successfully delivered a fun, high-energy explainer video that effectively guided users through the POQ platform, making onboarding seamless and engaging.
This digital ad for the POQ platform needed to quickly and effectively answer the question: What can you do with a pocketful of quarters? As the sole designer, animator, and editor, I had to craft a compelling visual story that blended motion graphics and live-action footage into a seamless, high-energy promo. One of the biggest challenges was creating engaging animations from scratch, including a faux search engine interface, a stylized Q logo with a dynamic trailing effect, and a Cinema 4D-animated sequence of coins falling into place. Using stock video of real gamers, I integrated motion graphics into the footage to highlight the seamless integration of POQ into the gaming experience. The final one-minute ad successfully delivered a fun, visually striking promo, capturing the excitement and accessibility of the POQ platform.
This emotionally charged mini-documentary tackled the theme of Speculation in Web3, highlighting the volatility of digital assets and positioning POQ as a platform that delivers real utility. As the sole creator of the project—handling scriptwriting, animation, voiceover, and editing—I was tasked with crafting a gripping narrative arc that built tension before delivering a midpoint crescendo twist. To achieve this, I combined stock footage, curated news clips, and dramatic visuals, layering them with a cinematic edit that reinforced the high-stakes nature of Web3 speculation. The biggest challenge wasn't the execution but the extensive revision process, with 16 iterations before the director of marketing was satisfied—not due to errors, but because I meticulously refined the piece to match evolving creative direction. The final product successfully delivered a thought-provoking and visually compelling piece, cementing POQ’s message as a solution to speculation-driven uncertainty in Web3.
