Born and raised in Southern California, Cody W Urban has always been a storyteller at heart. From childhood, he was crafting stories before he could even spell, dictating tales to his mom to write down. This love of storytelling led him into filmmaking, where he wrote and directed two feature films with 7D Studios. After earning a B.A. in Cinema and Television Arts from California State University, Northridge, he expanded his creative reach into screenwriting, novel writing, and multimedia production.

Cody's middle name is literally just the letter W to honor his grandfathers Walter and William.
Cody’s award-winning screenplays have gained industry recognition, with one script catching the attention of festival judges and securing representation at The Brogan Agency. His creative journey evolved into publishing novels, including Nicholas: The Fantastic Origin of Santa Claus, The Eschatos Trilogy, and co-authoring witty nonfiction like A Bouncer’s No B.S. Guide to Buying Cars and Ready-Made Expressions, as well as his children's book Lysander the Salamander.
Beyond writing, Cody is an accomplished motion graphic designer, video producer, and UX/UI designer, contributing to high-profile projects in film, television, esports, and Web3. His work includes animated UI design for major productions like Captain America: Brave New World, The Mandalorian & Grogu, and Quantum Leap.
His wide skillset in creative arts has positioned him as a key player for numerous startups needing a designer and video producer. At Marshmallow Jetpack, he contributed to the development of immersive gaming experiences by delivering a full range of multimedia services. He crafted motion graphics, story-driven animations, and produced multimedia content for promotional campaigns and product launches for NFT/Web3 games; Velkin Falling, Klapes Klubhouse, and Next Horizon. Cody's creative marketing work for Marshmallow Jetpack was key in the successful launch of the Klapes NFTs which sold out all 5000 in less than 5 minutes. Klapes became the first Klaytn NFT project verified on OpenSea.
With Downtime Dopamine, he has worked with major entertainment and gaming brands, including Neopets and projects with Joyner Lucas and Jordin Sparks, as well as branding and motion graphics for Deadlock Fight Night and Marvel-supported Rivals Fight Night.
A passionate mentor and educator, Cody has taught Media Arts and the craft of storytelling to students, empowering the next generation of creators. His faith and family remain his guiding lights while he enjoys any chance he can get to explore the outdoors.
Now based near Portland, Oregon, Cody continues pushing creative boundaries, blending storytelling, technology, and design to craft experiences that leave a lasting impact. He resides there with his wife, three kids, and two kitty cats.
